It has been very difficult for many people to get through the past three years because of the amount of restrictions that we had imposed on our daily lives. Many of us were told to stay indoors for a sustained amount of time and this took its toll on our overall health both physically and mentally. Now that we seem to be seeing light at the end of this very dark tunnel, people now want to get back into shape and to lose the excess weight that caused a great deal of fatalities during the pandemic. Many of us didn’t get enough sunshine and so we were deficient in vitamins D and this also contributed to a weakened immune system.
We all need to get outside a lot more and take part in many outdoor activities that will get our hearts pumping and the adrenaline flowing. There is so much to do outside on the ocean like Kitesurfing, surfing and many other pastimes. We need something that is going to get our hearts beating and we need something that is going to provide excitement as well. There are many health benefits to pursuing outdoor activities and the following are just some of those.
- It will put a smile on your face – You will notice that smiling has been missing in many of our lives mainly because we couldn’t see people’s faces due to the face masks, but also the people were not feeling themselves and many were suffering from depression and anxiety. Getting yourself outside and taking part in some kind of sporting activity is incredibly good for your overall mood and it helps to reduce your stress and anxiety levels.
- A stronger immune system – Many studies tell us that we are vastly deficient in vitamin D even though we live in a very hot climate. It’s because we are always protecting ourselves with sun hats, umbrellas and sun lotion and so were not getting the correct amount of vitamins D that we need for a strong immune system. You need to make sure that you get at least 15 minutes of direct sunshine upon your skin every single day for optimum vitamin D levels.
There is also the opportunity to meet new friends outside because you can find any new acquaintances if you’re stuck indoors all day every day. You need to exercise more in order to be able to burn more calories and to reduce your overall body weight.
